چکیده
Aim: Over dependence on fossil fuels has triggered environmental and economic concerns, creating an ultimate need to redirect towards renewable energy options. Hence, the study biodiesel production from algal biomass.
Study Design: Modified open pond culture system was applied in biomass growth monitored via pH turbidity.
Place Duration of Study: done laboratory Department Environmental Management Toxicology, Federal University Petroleum Resources, Effurun between June 2020 July 2021.
Methodology: Soxhlet extraction oil extraction. Alkali-mediated transesterification blends into conducted. Biodiesel were characterized physically spectroscopically for fuel properties chemical position. The synthesis biodiesels three micro species: Chroococcus sp, Ankistrodesmus falcatus, Chlamydomonas reinhardtii Due low yield, characterization four types hybrid oils prepared: 100 percen(%)t lavender (100LO), 10% falcatus plus 90% LO (10AN90LO), (10CHL90LO), sp (10CHR90LO).
Results: gave a percentage yield 29.6%, 23.4% 15.5%, respectively. 10AN90LO, 10CHL90LO, 10CHL90LO 66.7%, 61.7% 50.0%, Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry(GC-MS) analysis revealed presence fatty acid methyl vinyl esters namely; hexadecanoic ester, octadecadienoic stearate, carbonic eicosyl ester acid, tetradecyl ester. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIS) confirms that chemicals produced are esters.
Conclusion: Fuel these selected strains appear appreciable when compared standard limits. Blends with petroleum diesel showed great potential use engines.

متن کاملPortrait of a species: Chlamydomonas reinhardtii.
Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, the first alga subject to a genome project, has been the object of numerous morphological, physiological, and genetic studies. The organism has two genetically determined mating types (plus and minus) and all stages of the simple life cycle can be evoked in culture. In the nearly 60 years since the first standard laboratory strains were isolated, numerous crosses and ...

Background: This study aimed at determining the appropriate method for dewatering and drying biomass and selecting a suitable organic solvent for lipid extraction. Methods: Nannochloropsis Oculata was cultured in Gillard F/2 medium and after reaching the end of the stationary growth phase, algal biomass was separated from aqueous by centrifuge and dried through three methods: Oven, Air-dried an...
متن کاملDifferential effects of nitrogen and sulfur deprivation on growth and biodiesel feedstock production of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii.
Biodiesel production from microalgae is a promising approach for energy production; however, high cost of its process limits the use of microalgal biodiesel. Increasing the levels of triacylglycerol (TAG) levels, which is used as a biodiesel feedstock, in microalgae has been achieved mainly by nitrogen starvation. In this study, we compared effects of sulfur (S) and nitrogen (N) starvation on T...
